I’m not a dabbler…
I just spent the last 5 days celebrating my 12 year wedding anniversary AND my birthday – I know, I’m doomed to a lifetime of combo gifts but I’m cool. Anyhoo, with the celebration, I made a decision to take a technology break – no computer, no FB, no Twitter, no iPhone, no nothing. I gotta tell ya, it was nice… it took a full day for the anxiety of ’shouldn’t I be doing something’ to dissapate – haha – but then I was fully enjoying my vacay. All or nothing – all the time.
Here’s the deal, I’m not a dabbler. I’m all the way in or all the way out – for EVERYTHING. Eating right, working out, getting enough sleep – all that good healthy stuff… OR eating whatever the hell I want, lazing about all day and staying up all night. Full-on commitment either way. This life is for living – not for saying, “oooh, I don’t know, I really shouldn’t (or should) be doing ___________”.
Here’s a tip… if you can’t give yourself a definite yes or no to fully commit AND enjoy what you’re about to do – (tighten your butt with a killer workout, eat a greasy slice of pizza heaven, go to sleep at 8pm, anything) – do it anyway. Yep, better to live with regret because you did something instead of feeling like you totally missed out. Well, that was my reasoning when I was doing this…
