My friend and co-host of Lifegasms Radio Show, Sherry Fetzer, hounded me about signing up for the Warrior Dash.  I thought of million different reasons (excuses) why I ‘just couldn’t do it’.   I mean, it’s a race with 11 different death-defying obstacles!  A mud-crawl under barbed-wire, finding your way through an un-marked forest, jumping across a lake on these really rickety looking platforms, repelling down a cliff – crazy stuff like that.  Everyone who knows me knows I’m sorta indoorsy – okay, very indoorsy.  This Warrior Dash is waaaaaay out of my comfort zone… I’m NOT Fit Enough for this thing!  Which is EXACTLY why I signed up for it (and i’m crazy.)

This time last year I wasn’t fit enough to publish a book or film a TV pilot or launch a video blog or even deal with skin cancer.  I had to become fit enough for those.

I watched my friend, Elizabeth Potts Weinstein’s video blog titled Why I’m Letting Go or Things That Make Money and it totally spoke to me.  It’s about being brave enough to let go of the things that don’t really represent who you are anymore, although they still work.   

If I look at last year, everything I was doing still works.  It works and I’m fit enough to do it.  That means I’m smack in the middle of my comfort zone.  That scares me more than the super-scary, crazy, cuckoo nutso Warrior Dash.   I’m ready to become fit enough for a whole new year of adventures… adventures for who I have become (a smart, sexy redhead who plays by her own rules – rawrr!)

Today’s Action Item:

Change something, anything.  Change is good!   Change the way you part your hair, the breakfast you eat, the direction you drive, even the your voicemail greeting! You can’t grow if you don’t change. It feels scary at first but you’ll be fit enough for it soon… and then it’ll be time for another change.    Say it with me now:  Change. Is. Good.
